چکیده

BMAT: bone marrow aspirate and trephine CM: cutaneous mastocytosis CT: computed tomography UP: urticaria pigmentosa SM: systemic mastocytosis TMEP: telangiectasia macularis eruptive perstans WHO: World Health Organization INTRODUCTION Diagnosis of mastocytosis is frequently delayed given the variable clinical phenotypes at presentation. Here we present a case of a 64-year-old woman diagnosed with cutaneous mastocytosis (CM), specifically urticaria pigmentosa (UP), initially localized to an area treated with radiotherapy that subsequently progressed to indolent systemic mastocytosis (SM).

Mastocytosis most frequently manifests in the skin, so most often is diagnosed by dermatologists at first. Low threshold in clinical suspicion helps early detection of these cases. Cutaneous mastocytosis is an increase of cutaneous mast cells without known underlying disease or inflammatory infiltrate. A skin biopsy with staining specific for mast cells (toluidine blue, Wright-Giemsa) and trypt...

One had systemic symptoms presumed to be related to the release of mast cellederived mediators (histamine, prostaglandins), but neither had evidence of extracutaneous disease. Age at onset influences the clinical behavior of mastocytosis. Pediatric mastocytosis often resolves spont...

We report a case of WDSM that showed excellent clinical and cutaneous response to imatinib in the absence of known molecular genetic abnormalities. CLINICAL FINDINGS/DIAGNOSES We present a 24-year-old woman with childhood onset of skin manifestatio...
